Churches throughout the Central Kentucky Network of Baptists (CKNB) are gearing up for two important Kentucky Women’s Missionary Union (WMU)-related events this March, designed to strengthen missions engagement and discipleship across our region.
About Kentucky WMU
Kentucky WMU is the statewide auxiliary of the Kentucky Baptist Convention that equips Kentucky Baptist churches to embrace and live out the Great Commission. In partnership with the national Woman’s Missionary Union, the organization provides missions education, discipleship resources, prayer support, and hands-on opportunities for believers of all ages to grow in missions awareness and involvement. Their stated mission is “to make disciples of Jesus who live on mission,” facilitating prayer, giving, learning, and going both locally and globally.
March 21 Associational WMU Gathering at David’s Fork Baptist
On Saturday, March 21 at 9:00 a.m., WMU associations will gather at David’s Fork Baptist Church for an important Associational WMU meeting.
Attendees will:
Hear testimonies from past recipients of the Julia Woodward Mission Offering;
Engage in focused prayer for the 2026 offering season;
Pick up Elkhorn WMU Impact Reports and Julia Woodward offering materials for their churches.
CKNB is encouraging at least one representative from every CKNB church to attend this gathering. This event serves both to celebrate the mission work already funded through the offering and to equip churches for the upcoming season of prayer and generosity.
The Julia Woodward Mission Offering has been a long-standing local missions support effort that helps fund a range of ministries in our area, including scholarships, collegiate ministries, food assistance projects, and other outreach efforts supported through the Central Kentucky Network of Baptists.
March 24 Regional Missions4Men Rally at Salvisa Baptist
On Tuesday, March 24 at 6:00 p.m., Salvisa Baptist Church will host a regional Missions4Men rally, part of the statewide series of rallies running March 16–30. The Missions4Men initiative is designed to engage and disciple men in missions and Christian service by helping them grow spiritually and cultivate mission skills under the authority of the local church.
This rally offers a dynamic environment for men’s groups, Sunday School classes, Brotherhood teams, and church leaders to:
Fellowship with other men pursuing mission-focused lives;
Receive encouragement and training to develop discipleship habits;
Grow deeper in understanding how to engage in missions biblically.
Events like this are excellent tools for strengthening discipleship among church men and encouraging them to live out their faith actively in their communities and beyond.
Why These Events Matter
Both gatherings reflect the heart of WMU’s mission to equip believers, deepen prayer support, facilitate generous giving, and foster a lifestyle of mission. Whether through honoring and supporting local mission efforts with the Julia Woodward Offering or energizing men to live “on mission” through Missions4Men, these events are key opportunities for local churches to engage with the broader mission of Christ in practical, impactful ways.
Churches are encouraged to participate fully in these events as part of our shared commitment to advance the gospel and strengthen discipleship across CKNB congregations.
