LEXINGTON, 2023 -- The Central Kentucky Network of Baptists is happy to announce and welcome Khum Hauzel and his wife, Candy to the Lexington area. Born and raised in India, Khum has recently finished up a course of study at Southern Seminary in Louisville and has relocated to Lexington last week as he conducts a one year internship with the CKNB as an International Church Planting Intern, focusing on East Asian People Groups.
CKNB Executive Director, David Stokes, and Ministry Director, David Barron, are excited for the opportunity to work with Khum as he will bring a wealth of knowledge and international experience to our Network to help strengthen churches in the Central Kentucky area, which offers a great deal more international planting opportunities than locals here may even realize.
Please join us in prayer for Khum and Candy as they get settled here and begin their work to serve Christ and his church.
Getting to Know the Hauzels...
Born and raised in the heart of Hiangtam Lamka, Manipur, India. Khumbiaklal Hauzel accepted Christ as his Savior during his teenage years and found salvation in one of the Bible camps. He completed his Bachelor of Art Degree in 2012 and thereafter got a calling for ministry so started studying MDiv from Grace Bible College and graduated in 2016. During these years, he also served full time in the Youth Ministry at EBC (Evangelical Baptist Convention) Church and teaching moral educations at schools. He is also a Founding member of REBOOT LAMKA in 2017 to reboot the youth of Lamka to prepare them in Christian worldview and apologetics. To pursue better knowledge and understanding of the subject, he came to United States and completed MTS (Master of Theological Studies) in 2019-21 at McCormick Theological Seminary, Chicago, US. Currently he graduated his THM (Doctoral Degree in Christian Worldview, Philosophy and Apologetics) at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville, Kentucky, US in May’2023.
He is married to a beautiful wife named Candy Nianglunghoih in 2022 who holds an MBA degree specialized in Fashion Retail Management from NIFT, Mumbai. She has a work experience of 14years in several head office of retail giant companies in Mumbai, India and Dubai, UAE; however, her love for God and Khum made her leave her corporate lifestyle and is now fully dedicated to ministry to support and help her husband. During her short stay in SBTS campus, she attended a semester with SWI (Seminary Wives Institute) classes and also volunteered at Southern Exchange during the period.
