Safe Harbor Baptist of Georgetown Seeking Candidates For 2026 Pastoral Internship Program

Safe Harbor Baptist Church of Georgetown has officially opened the application window for its 2026 Pastoral Internship Program. Now entering its second year, the program is designed to provide future pastors with hands-on ministry experience and advanced theological training within the context of a local church.

Safe Harbor launched its Pastoral Internship in 2025 with a vision to equip and mentor men called to pastoral ministry, providing them with both academic rigor and practical ministry immersion. The internship is academically equivalent to master’s-level coursework, and participants are eligible to receive credit from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary upon completion of the program.

Joshua Copley, Associate Pastor and Internship Director, believes this internship represents Safe Harbor's commitment to training up faithful shepherds for the next generation. They're looking forward to seeing how the Lord continues to use this program to serve not only Safe Harbor but also other churches within the Central Kentucky Network of Baptists.

Pastoral internships like the one at Safe Harbor are designed to bridge the gap between classroom study and real-world ministry. Interns often gain experience in areas such as preaching, pastoral counseling, leadership development, and church administration—all under the mentorship of seasoned pastors. These programs also provide an environment for personal spiritual growth and deeper theological reflection, preparing interns to serve faithfully and effectively wherever God calls them.

Located in Georgetown, Kentucky, Safe Harbor Baptist Church is a growing congregation committed to gospel-centered worship, biblical teaching, and community outreach. The church describes its mission as “helping people find refuge and rest in Jesus Christ,” emphasizing discipleship and service as central to its ministry life. More information about the church can be found at safeharborbaptist.org.
