Silas Baptist Church Celebrates Homecoming with Three-Day Revival

CYNTHIANA, Ky | Silas Baptist Church in Cynthiana welcomed members, friends, and guests for a special three-day revival September 13–15, bringing together preaching, worship, music, and fellowship under the invitation, “Come Be Blessed!”

The revival began Sunday, September 13, with the church’s annual Homecoming Service at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Buddy Mills served as the guest speaker for the morning service. The day’s celebration continued at 2:00 p.m. with a special concert featuring The Ball Family, providing an afternoon of gospel music as part of the Homecoming festivities.

Revival services continued Monday and Tuesday evenings at 6:00 p.m. On Monday, September 14, Rev. Kyle Sullivanbrought the message, while Rev. David Barron served as the guest speaker for the concluding service on Tuesday, September 15.

The three days provided an opportunity for the Silas congregation and visitors from the surrounding community to gather around the preaching of God’s Word and gospel music while celebrating the fellowship and ministry of the local church.

The setting also carries a remarkable Baptist heritage. Silas Baptist Church was organized on August 30, 1800, and its present brick sanctuary dates to 1850. The congregation describes itself as the oldest church in Bourbon County and has continued ministering from its historic location for more than two centuries. Silas Baptist Church, located at 274 Silas Road in Cynthiana, is also among the churches of the Central Kentucky Network of Baptists.
