WMU Scholarship Opportunity for High School Seniors — Deadline Approaching Fast!

The Woman’s Missionary Union (WMU) of the Central Kentucky Network of Baptists is excited to announce that applications are now open for the 2026 WMU Scholarship. This opportunity is designed to support graduating high school seniors who are active in their local Baptist churches and seeking to follow God’s direction for their lives.

Each year, scholarships are made possible through the Julia Woodward Offering for Associational Missions, helping students take the next step in their educational and spiritual journeys. This year, six scholarships will be awarded to deserving applicants. 

Who Can Apply?

The WMU Scholarship is open to students who:

• Are graduating high school seniors (or recent graduates)

• Are active members of a Baptist church within the Central Kentucky Network of Baptists

• Have not previously received this scholarship

• Are not members of a sorority or fraternity 

Applicants do not have to be pursuing full-time ministry, but they should demonstrate a desire to seek God’s will in their lives. Special consideration is given to those exploring full-time Christian service. 

What Does the Scholarship Include?

The scholarship is awarded to students attending a college or university, with funds distributed at the beginning of each semester. While the scholarship is not renewable, it is available to both incoming freshmen and current college students. 

Application Requirements

To be considered, applicants must submit a complete application packet, which includes:

• A fully completed application form

• An academic information (grade) sheet completed by a school official

• Three letters of recommendation (including one from a pastor or church leader)

• A personal letter outlining life goals, faith journey, and future plans

• Family income information and supporting details

Incomplete applications will not be considered, so applicants are encouraged to carefully review all requirements and follow up with those providing recommendations or academic forms.

Important Deadline — Don’t Miss It!

All application materials must be submitted by May 15, 2026. This is a firm deadline for both mailed and emailed applications, and students are responsible for ensuring all materials—including recommendations—are received on time.
