LEXINGTON, KY. | The school year may be over, but the excitement was just beginning at the recent School’s Out Party hosted at the Irishtown Baptist Ministry Center in downtown Lexington.
Children and families gathered to celebrate the successful completion of another school year, recognizing the hard work, dedication, and academic achievements of students from across the community. The event provided an opportunity for kids to enjoy time with friends, participate in activities, and officially kick off the start of summer vacation.
The atmosphere was filled with laughter and excitement as students proudly showed off their accomplishments and embraced the joy of having a few months away from homework, tests, and classroom schedules. Families, volunteers, and ministry partners joined together to encourage the children and celebrate their success.
One of the highlights of the event was a special gift made possible through the generosity of First Baptist Church of Shelbyville. Students attending the party received new shoes and other items, ensuring they begin their summer with comfortable footwear and a renewed sense of confidence.
After a long school year, many children find that they have literally outgrown the shoes they started the year wearing. A new pair of summer shoes provides more than comfort—it opens the door to a season filled with outdoor adventures, playground fun, neighborhood games, and time spent making memories with friends and family.
The smiles on the faces of the children as they selected and tried on their new footwear reflected the impact of this simple but meaningful act of generosity. For many families, the gift was both practical and encouraging as they prepare for the summer months ahead.
The School’s Out Party was made possible through the partnership and support of First Baptist Church of Shelbyville, dedicated volunteers, and numerous community partners who continue to invest in the lives of Lexington’s children and families through compassionate outreach.
CKNB extends its heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed their time, resources, and encouragement to make the event a success.
