Developing A Leadership Pipeline Within Your Ministry Is Crucial, But Attainable

by David Barron Associate Executive Director, CKNB

I need more leaders!

I’ve said it, you have said it, we've all said it, but we often don’t know how to or where to turn in order to raise up leaders in our churches. Additionally, we find that we are so busy we don’t know where we would find time even if we had people who just needed a little bit of training.

Well I have good news! Our friends at the North American Mission Board have rolled out a game changing tool for the Churches of the SBC. Leadership Pipeline is an online platform that allows pastors to create an online cohort to help develop those under his care to become the leaders they have been called to be. This online platform is free to any church who is a participating member of the Cooperative Program within the SBC. That’s right... if you give anything to the Cooperative Program this tool is free to you. All you have to do is visit https://www.namb.net/send-network/pipeline/ and sign up for free, giving you access to dozens of training links that you as the pastor can facilitate.

You can take one or more people from your church through a cohort such as Exploring your call, Three Circles, Gospel Neighboring, and many others.

The original Leadership Pipeline that has 3 levels of training that is designed to help develop leaders from the ground up focusing on...

  • Spiritual development

  • Scripture memorization

  • Self-awareness

  • Communication Skills

  • Teamwork

  • and so much more.

Each Cohort is set up with a Facilitator (that’s you) and as many students as you like. These Cohorts are self-paced so that you can set the frequent and expectations of those who are going through the class with you. You want to meet once a week? Perfect, once a month? That works too. Additionally, as the facilitator you can monitor where each future (or current) leader is in the process. You can see what readings they have completed, what videos they have watched, and what answers they have given.

Best of all it’s all customizable. Want to put your church logo on there? Go for it! Want to bolster some of the materials with some of your own writings? No problem.

If this is something that perks your interest and would like to know more about how you can implement this at your church or to see a free demonstration, please reach out to me, David.Barron@CKNB.org to set up a time that works with your schedule.

As a network we want to EQUIP, SERVE, CONNECT AND ASSIST, our local churches for the Glory of God and the expansion of His Kingdom. We believe that this tool will help EQUIP your church to be more effective in the Kingdom work God has given you.
