REPORT | CKNB Leadership Team Gathers for Encouraging Time of Fellowship, Reports, and Vision

The Central Kentucky Network of Baptists (CKNB) Leadership Team gathered on Tuesday, May 12, at Parkway Baptist Church in Lexington for an encouraging afternoon of fellowship, ministry updates, and important discussion regarding the ongoing work and future direction of the Network. The meeting welcomed both in-person and virtual participants, with a full house of leaders coming together around a shared commitment to advancing Gospel ministry across Central Kentucky.

The gathering began with a time of lunch and fellowship before transitioning into the business session led by Executive Director David Barron. Steve Price, President of the Network, opened the meeting with Scripture reading and prayer.

Throughout the meeting, leadership members heard reports highlighting the many ways God is at work through the ministries and partnerships of CKNB. Financial updates were presented, along with staff and ambassador reports that reflected both faithfulness and momentum within the Network’s ongoing efforts.

Special attention was given to several ministry initiatives and partnerships that continue to impact communities locally and internationally. Reports included updates on Hispanic Ministry efforts, the Mexico Partnership, the work of Cross Culture Church, and an informative session introducing partnership opportunities with Orphan Care Alliance. These presentations reminded attendees of the broad reach of the Network and the collaborative spirit that fuels ministry across cultures and communities.

The Leadership Team also addressed matters of old and new business, including the report that a new van has been purchased for Irishtown Baptist Mission & Ministry Center. This purchase was made with funds garnered from the Julia Woodward Fund, a designated fund for missions and mission support. Leaders were encouraged by the shared commitment to strengthening churches and supporting pastors and ministry leaders throughout the Network.

In addition to reviewing current ministry opportunities, the meeting also looked ahead to upcoming events and gatherings designed to encourage pastors, ministry leaders, and churches throughout the region. These opportunities reflect CKNB’s ongoing desire to foster fellowship, discipleship, leadership development, and collaborative mission work.

As the meeting concluded, there was a sense of gratitude and anticipation for what lies ahead. The spirit of unity present throughout the afternoon served as a reminder that the work of ministry is strongest when churches and leaders labor together for the Kingdom. CKNB continues to move forward with hope, purpose, and a shared vision for reaching Central Kentucky and beyond with the Gospel.

The future of the Network remains bright, and gatherings like this serve as a powerful testimony that we truly are better together.
